Marriage was an imprisonment for a 61-year-old woman Park.
Her husband, Kim, controlled every single thing in her life.
There was not one thing which her husband didn’t meddle in.
Kim worked briefly, but Park had to put food on the table all her life.
Kim lashed out at her if a meal was late by as much a minute.
He smashed things and threw items at her. Their daughter had cancer, and died.
Torn apart with sorrow, Park tried to lay it on Kim.
All that she got back was hit in the face.
Kim was indifferent to their destitute life.
Park came under a tremendous amount of debt with credit cards after their children went to college.
She paid living expenses and tax with cash revolving service, but couldn’t pay it back.
She fell into being a credit risk, a delinquent borrower.
After Kim retired, he never pulled his weight on maintaining status quo.
Park had to find herself in deep cerebral infraction, or brain strain.
Kim, all the while, never let go of the money and pushed her limit off the cliff.
Park had to make a life’s decision for herself in 2011.
She sued her husband for alimony and division of assets.
Kim counter-sued her for excessive spending to the point of bankruptcy.
Seoul Family Court judge Kim Gui-ok on Jan. 11. ruled in favor of the plaintiff, Park.
She said, ”Kim, the husband, leveraged the financial situation of the couple and used it to his advantage.
"He controlled her financially, ignored her, and caused her emotional distress to the point of the breakdown of the marriage. Kim is fundamentally at fault.”
The court ordered 20milllion won ($18,000) in alimony and 155 million won ($140,000) in the division of property.
